The Best Source for Anglican Choral Music on the Web!
"A treasure-trove of over 12,000 recordings and broadcasts, the Archive of Recorded Church Music spans almost 125 years of history. Representing over 1,000 choirs in the all-male English Cathedral tradition, they are celebrated and cherished, from the first gramophone record in 1902 to the present day. In conjunction with the extensive photographic and library collection, the Archive is unrivalled in historical, social and cultural significance."
What makes the Gospel Magazine attractive is that it has never moved, in spite of many pressures, from the object it set out to pursue at its inception:
the uncompromising declaration of the Gospel of Free Grace, both in belief and in practice.
The Gospel Magazine, January 1766
It represents the oldest surviving magazine, as far as is known, in Britain and so most probably in the English-speaking world.
Past contributors have included George Whitefield, John Newton, Augustus Toplady and others, under names such as Omicron as was the practice in those days.
The Trust Deed is the Thirty-Nine Articles of the Church of England, but the Gospel Magazine has always sought to embrace all of every denomination who love the Gospel of Grace, as in Ephesians 4:3,
Trinitarian Bible Society exists to promote the Glory of God and the salvation of men, by circulating, both at home and abroad, in dependence on the Divine blessing, the HOLY SCRIPTURES, which are given by inspiration of God, and are able to make men wise unto salvation, through faith which is in Christ Jesus.
To this day, the Trinitarian Bible Society maintains that the providentially preserved true and authentic text is to be found in the Masoretic Hebrew Text of the Old Testament and the Greek Received Text of the New Testament, upholding the Protestant doctrines of the Holy Scriptures and Holy Trinity.
The Protestant Reformation Society is a group of ministers and lay people who believe in the final authority of Holy Scripture. We are seeking to recall Anglicanism to its Reformation heritage and to strengthen fellowship among all, of whatever denomination, who are wholly committed to the authority of Scripture and the great Reformation confessions.
"Pray Morning and Evening Prayer according to the 1662 Book of Common Prayer. Through this discipline, a Christian reads the Old Testament once a year, the New Testament three times a year, and the Psalms every month. Anglican spirituality is deeply rooted in daily conforming ourselves to the study of God's Word and the cycle of confession, supplication, praise and thanksgiving. This daily service is a great way for people of all backgrounds and schedules to pray, learn, and grow in holiness."
